Morning Word offers a

clear plan to help you

actually read the Bible.

There is one goal for Morning Word: to spend meaningful time with God.

That only happens with a clear plan to follow. When there is no plan, there is no sustained reading of God’s word. In the past, you may have followed a plan reading large chunks of the Bible, but  if you are like me, it becomes an after thought and you read it quickly just to check it off the list and you miss out on actually spending time with God.

The Morning Word plan is designed to help you slow down while reading through the Scriptures — just the text, no devotionals — and spend time praying, reflecting, and applying what you read.

What you can expect…

This Bible reading plan will take you around 15-20 minutes a morning if you follow all the steps. If you want to just read the passage of Scripture, it will take you around 5 minutes.

Pray

1 Psalm a Day

Pray the Bible each morning. Every day, you will receive a passage from Psalms to read through, and it will help you spend time with God in a new way. No longer pray the same old things in the same old ways.

Reflect

on 3 Questions a Day

As opposed to quickly reading the Bible just to check it off the list, slow down and reflect on what you read. Through a list of questions, you will be challenged to give attention to the verse, phrase, word, or teaching from Scripture that you read that day.

Read

20-30 Verses a Day

Reading the Bible in a year sounds great, but if you don’t read the Bible consistently already, reading 5 chapters a day is an unrealistic goal. Instead, start reading one book at a time and 20-30 verses a day.

Memorize

1 Verse a Week

No longer forget what you read but begin to take Scripture with you. Scripture memorization is one of the most neglected habits of the faith but is arguably the most effective for growing in your walk with Christ.
